 Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies

Friday June 20, 2008

Green Park 8:00 p.m.

The Town of Dauphin Island is pleased to announce the opening of a new public park.  Green Park, a beautiful natural area adorned with century old oaks, will offer visitors a convenient and quaint site for lunch, reading a book, bird watching or simply relaxing.  Located on LeMoyne Drive next to Ship and Shore, the park is within easy walking distance of a variety of local businesses such as the Lighthouse Bakery (the Cream Cheese Danish is to die for… go early!)  Dauphin Island BBQ (just follow your nose to this island favorite!), Skinner’s Seafood (Where Alabama Wild Shrimp and other tasty sea foods are available) and the new Common Loon with daily specials and great Po Boys and just down the street are the great crab cakes from the Crusty Crab! Need a souvenir? Hop on over to the “Just for You” gift shop or stop by the Treasure Trove. Lots of treasures await!

Future plans for Green Park include “movies under the oaks” and other similar attractions to showcase this unique environment.
